PECAN SUPREMES RECIPE

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup quick oats
3/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1 cup ( 2 sticks) butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup chocolate chips
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 300°F.

In a medium bowl combine flour, soda, salt, and oats. Mix well with wire whisk
and set aside.

In a large bowl, blend sugars with an electric mixer at medium speed. Add butter and mix to form a
grainy paste. Scrape down sides of bowl, then add eggs and vanilla. Beat at medium speed
until light and fluffy.

Add the flour mixture, pecans, and chocolate chips, and blend at low speed just until combined.
Do not over mix.

Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets, 1 1/2 inches apart.
Bake for 18 to 20 minutes. Immediately transfer cookies onto a cool, flat surface.
