MEATY LASAGNA RECIPE

Ingredients:
1- 1 1/2 lb ground beef
1 small onion chopped finely
20 oz container cottage cheese (excess liquid drained)
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
salt and pepper to taste
1 large can tomato sauce
2 teaspoon italian seasoning
1 teaspoon dried oregano
6-9 lasagna noodles (cooked)
3 cups mozzarella cheese (grated)

Directions:

Start by crumbling and browning the ground beef along with the chopped onion. After being cooked thoroughly, drain the beef mixture. Return to the stove along with tomato sauce, italian seasoning, and dried oregano. Now add salt and pepper to taste. Set on low heat and simmer for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions in boiling and salted water. After noodles are cooked and drained start to layer the lasagna. Spray a 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray to prevent sticking. First layer will be lasagna noodles, followed by 1/3 of the beef sauce mixture, 1 mozzarella cheese, 1/3 of the cottage cheese, and again start the next layer with lasagna noodles. Continue this layering until you reach the top. The top layer should end with cottage cheese then to the cottage cheese add the 1/2 cup parmesan cheese.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 30-35 minutes. The parmesan cheese should have a nice light brown color. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting to prevent the layers from sliding apart while trying to serve.
